1st Eaglemont Scout Group has been in our local community for 50 years. In that time, it has provided fun programmes which involve active learning, including outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking, climbing and abseiling, canoeing and other water sports and horseback riding. Community participation is a major focus of the group, and both its leaders and youth members spend hundreds of volunteer hours each year contributing to, and assisting, the local community. In addition to the weekly meetings and weekend activities, we have been involved in community projects such as weeding in Wilson Reserve and tree planting in country Victoria.
Scout groups such as 1st Eaglemont do not receive any funding and must therefore cover all their operating costs from annual membership fees and undertaking whatever fundraising activities they can. The current hall used by the 1st Eaglemont Scout Group requires major repairs, which must be undertaken if the group is to continue with its wonderful community tradition in the long term.
Fund will be used to renovate the current scout hall, which is in dire need of repairs.
