Australian Academic Volunteers Abroad (AAVA) is a registered charity strengthening university teaching, research, governance and institutional capability across the Pacific, Asia and Africa. AAVA is collaborative and locally led. AAVA matches partner university priorities with highly experienced Australian academic and professional volunteers mobilised through the Australian Volunteers Program. Assignments are long term and combine in-country engagement with remote support. 

We are seeking individuals and donor organisations that share our commitment to long-term partnerships and locally-led university capacity building. Philanthropic support will help AAVA develop assignments, expand partnerships and strengthen the systems needed for effective programs.

AAVA gives donors a practical way to support lasting education impact. Rather than funding short-term interventions, donors help strengthen the people, systems and institutions that enable universities to serve students, communities and countries over time.
