To construct a gallery to display the Museum's wonderful collection of Old Masters and Royal Academy watercolours to the public. The collection includes works of Rubens, Sassetta, early Italian and Flemish artists, and a fresco from Milan, c1350. The works will be on display at the Queensland Art Gallery until about 2008. The Museum urgently needs to build a gallery to safely house and display them on their return.
How will the funds be used?
The Museum has commissioned an architect to design a gallery. Any funds received through this appeal will be directed towards the $500,000 we are trying to raise.
