Adaptive Equipment for People with Disabilities Appeal

We are collecting funds so that we can help people with disabilities to get active outdoors in the beautiful alpine high country and enjoy its benefits just like able-bodied people. We help people with all sorts of disabilities including: paraplegics, quadriplegics, amputees, people who have MS, Cerebral Palsy, people who are blind or vision impaired.

Some of the benefits of providing people with disabilities with opportunities to participate are:

• increased self esteem, social interaction and independence
• a sense of belonging and inclusiveness
• rehabilitation
• respite

How will these funds be used?

We will be using the funds to help purchase items of adaptive equipment. Adaptive equipment allows people with disabilities to participate. It has been purpose-built for people with disabilities. Often this makes it considerably more expensive than the equivalent pieces of equipment designed for able-bodied people.
