More About Australian Children's Literary Board Projects
These projects for at risk children will promote and support children's literary talent and the appreciation and development of literary skills along with teaching the art of writing. To provide an avenue to at risk children to demonstrate their literary talent.
- To provide free of charge, inspirational literary workshops for disadvantaged Australian children who would otherwise not have access to such a quality literary experience.
- To provide a positive educational experience for at risk children who, because of socio-economic reasons, are at risk of missing out on the skills and rewards of literature, both reading and writing
- To encourage each young participant to believe in their own abilities and to give them confidence to express themselves through their writing and storytelling, whether gifted or reluctant writers
- To offer teachers in disadvantaged schools the opportunity of attending these sessions at no cost as a Professional Development day to enhance their skills as teachers of literacy, so they can pass on their new expertise to their classes.
