Since the 1920's The United returned Soldier's Fund through its ANZAC Day (April) and Poppy Day (November) appeals has been raising funds to provide welfare assistance for the veteran community and current serving members of the Australian Defence Force.
How will the funds be used?
To assist in the provision of welfare for current serving and ex-serviceman and women and their dependants.
Key Areas of Expenditure
Provision of financial assistance to current members of the ADF and veterans who are in need, for example, emergency accommodation, payment of utilities and rates, home repairs, grants, assistance with school fees.
Supporting our troops serving overseas by the provision of comfort parcels and donations to ship amenities funds.
Providing advocacy service to current members of the ADF and veterans.
Assisting wounded defence personnel and their immediate family to recover from injuries occurred in combat
Assisting in the payment in the cost of funerals and ensuring that no veteran is buried a pauper.
