Celebrate the vital humanitarian work of the Asylum Seekers Centre of NSW (ASC) by giving friends and family a gift of support for the ASC with a donation on their behalf. We are determined to survive another year

The ASC is in urgent need of funds to sustain its vital humanitarian work. 2008-09 saw a dramatic increase of 54% more new clients accessing our services than the previous year. The Centre is now facing a funding shortfall. Your tax deductible gift could help people like Nita.

• Nita came from Sri Lanka with her 12 year old daughter. She presented to the Centre with physical health problems and symptoms of depression and anxiety about the family that she left behind. Because of her depressive symptoms the Health Care Coordinator and Caseworker maintained daily phone contact with Nita and on multiple occasions contacted Nita's young daughter to provide support and reassure her about her mother's situation.

The ASC in-house pro bono doctor diagnosed her as having stomach ulcers and high blood pressure and prescribed her the appropriate medication, paid for by the Centre. Nita was also offered relaxation massages from the centre's pro bono physiotherapist, yoga classes for stress and sessions with the in-house pro bono Mental Health Nurse.
