BASScare, a proudly independent community based not for profit organisation, is one of the largest providers of social support services for the aged within the Boroondara area of Melbourne and ha been operating for over fifty years.

BASScare's services are accessible by all, irrespective of their financial, religious or cultural status. Our services assist clients to maintain independence and achieve a greater quality of life.

We are constantly seeking help from the broader community, our friends and supporters, towards funding our various programs. With the generous support of people like you, BASScare will be able to continue its programs and provide the required care for our community.

BASScare's vision is to be a leading community based provider of best practice residential and community services for the aged.

Our mission is to achieve excellence in services provision by putting the integrity and dignity of those for whom we care first and foremost

Currently BASScare operates a number of services:

 

  • Faversham House Aged Care facility - Ageing in Place
  • Seventy-three affordable independent living units in four different locations across Canterbury and Surrey Hills
  • Two large kitchens at Canterbury Centre and Faversham House, Canterbury, providing over 236,000 meals each year, including the majority of Meals on Wheels services throughout the area and to community dining facilities in Canterbury, North Balwyn and Balwyn.
  • Maranoa House dementia day care centre in Canterbury
  • A senior citizens club in North Balwyn
  • A variety of social support services and day activity programs
  • Canterbury Centre and North Balwyn Senior Citizens Centre - activities, hall hire and catering
