C31 Digital Appeal

Community Television needs your help now!

C31 is currently seeking support to move to digital broadcasting. At the moment we are the only free to air station in Australia that is not being shown on digital TV. Every time a consumer purchases a digital set-top box, they effectively lose access to C31, however with your help we can secure a digital future and continue to provide diverse content and quality programming which supports your local community. Your donation will ensure C31 can provide the digital training, production and transmission necessary to get C31 on the digital spectrum and continue to be an independent voice for all in the community.

Purchase a new digital transmitter so we can deliver Community Programs in the new digital format. Digital transmitter costs as well as the upgraded digital microwave links required are estimated to cost the Station $600,000 in capital outlay

Provide an extensive training program to Community Producers to equip them with the skills and knowledge required to make the switch to producing their programs in wide screen digital, recording in full stereo sound and editing in wide screen digital.

Upgrade its staff skill base to enable wide screen digital transmission involving the production of electronic program guides and wide screen broadcasting of programs.
