Coast Shelter Homeless Appeal

Coast Shelter works to reduce homelessness and poverty on the NSW Central Coast by providing emergency accommodation, support and free meals to those in need.

In our four refuges and two housing programs we are able to accommodate 100 homeless men, women, families and youth every night. Unfortunately, for every person we are able to take in, three more are turned away because we have no vacancies.

How will the funds be used?

Your money will assist us in providing quality care, support services and free meals for homeless and vulnerable community members on the NSW Central Coast.

Key areas of expenditure

• $20 will provide a food hamper to help a family in need
• $50 will provide a Christmas or birthday gift for a homeless man or teenager who are often overlooked
• $100 will provide a picnic day for homeless women and children at Kara
• $500 will provide a free meal for 200 people at the Coast Community Centre
• $1,000 will provide a month's worth of groceries for homeless women and children at Kara
• $3,000 will provide a school holiday camp for homeless teenagers at Maya and Rumbalara
