Foundation for Contemporary Music & Culture

Give a One Off Donation Give a Regular Donation

The Foundation for Contemporary Music & Culture Inc. (FCMC) was incorporated in Victoria, Australia in 2010. We support and nurture both artists and their works, with an emphasis on those who create works of divergent aesthetics or who are otherwise marginalised.

How will the funds be used?

At present we have originated several projects that facilitate these aims:

The FCMC Archive currently houses over 250,000 items by various artists across multiple disciplines. Our current focus is to expand our digital collection, creating a fully searchable, online database so that this cultural resource can be accessed by the public, educational institutions and other Artist.

FCMC Education incorporates a mobile educational facility, designed to connect Artists with the wider community, delivering alternative educational arts programs in the areas of music, visual, and digital arts through metropolitan and regional centers.

The FCMC Space is a physical location that is part Archive, part workshop, part venue, part gallery. Run as a clubhouse, it will be a place of cultural exchange for members, guests, our supporters and visitors.

Key areas of expenditure

  • Purchase and maintenance of a redundancy tested server for the digital archive.
  • Digital migration of analogue items.
  • Cataloging of existing and future items.
  • Implementation of Education Programs.
  • Securing permanent housing for the collection.
  • Wages and volunteer expenses.
