Embrace Education is a non-profit, uni student run tutoring organisation which focuses on providing free tutoring to refugee and recent migrant high school students. We run homework clubs and in-school tutoring at several schools, and match later year students one on one with tutors to help them through their VCE year.

Many of the students we work with are completing VCE subjects without regular access to a textbook. Some of our students are attempting their 12 mathematics without a graphic calculator, leaving them at a substantial disadvantage in their exams. Access to a graphics calculator is assumed so they miss a substantial part of the course outcomes.

We supply donated textbooks to students, but new ones must be bought on occasion to keep up with the changing VCE courses.

How will the funds be used?


Funds will be used to purchase textbooks and calculators from local suppliers at discounted prices. These items are provided on a loan basis to students for their VCE year. They are re-loaned to students in subsequent years.
