foodwatershelter inc (fws)is an Australian, not-for-profit, non-denominational, non-governmental organisation that builds and runs eco-friendly children's villages with education, social and health facilities for vulnerable women and children in developing countries.
fws's first project is Kesho Leo children's village in Tanzania, East Africa ('Kesho Leo' is Swahili for 'tomorrow today').
Why are you collecting funds?
To fund the costs of running Kesho Leo children's village. Through the Kesho Leo children's village, fws aims to enhance the current and future lives of women and children so that they are better able to contribute to their community and enjoy their lives.
How will the funds be used?
We will use at least 80% of the money you donate to provide:
- nourishing meals to vulnerable women and children
- access to clean water for vulnerable women and children and, where possible, the wider community
- safe shelter for vulnerable women and children
- access to health facilities (including AIDs care) for vulnerable women and children
- environmental, health, business, social and educational programs that teach life skills to vulnerable women and children
- weekend education programs for the wider community
- all of the above with minimal impact on the local environment
We will use the remaining 20% (if possible less) of the money you donate to:
- Fund our admin/running costs (we are able to keep this percentage low due to the fact that nobody involved with fws receives payment for the time, knowledge or expertise they provide.)
