Following the invasions of Venezuela and Iran, renowned independent filmmaker and social justice activist David Bradbury of Frontline Films (eg. Nicaragua No Pasaran, Chile Hasta Cuando?) needs funding for airfares and other travel costs involved in getting himself and his teenage son Omar and young adult daughter Nakeita to Cuba (and back) in order to film a documentary highlighting the current situation, with a particular focus on Cuba's youth.
The film will be made in Solidarity with the Cuban people as they wait out Trump/Rubio/Hegseth's next move. For the last sixty years, the Cuban people have been resisting invasion by their powerful close neigbour (Havana is only 80 miles from Miami as the crow flies), but now the country is facing its biggest threat yet (see this video for more details).
David, Omar and Nakeita leave for Cuba on the 20th of March, having paid for their airfares to Mexico City on David's personal credit card. Funds will be used to cover those airfares (around $3000 each), the additional costs of getting from Mexico to Cuba, accommodation and basic living costs during the trip (estimated at US$100 per day). Any remaining funds will go towards production costs for the film.
