Girl Guides develop community awareness and look to assist their local community through volunteering, participation, knowledge and raising support.

FOODBANK SA

What is Foodbank SA?

Foodbank SA is the largest hunger relief organisation in South Australia.

They are a not-for-profit organisation that acts as a conduit between the food and grocery industry's donations and the welfare sectors needs. Surplus or donated food is collected from the food companies and delivered to our distribution centre. Welfare agencies then collect the food and distribute it to people requiring food relief either in the form of meals or food parcels.

This year Foodbank SA will supply close to 1.5 million kilograms of food and groceries to over 500 community welfare groups in South Australia. This will provide more than two million meals to people in need.

How will the funds be used?

A Gift to Girl Guides South Australia offers double benefits, as a donation to Girl Guides SA is also a dontation to Foodbank SA.
