Under the direction of Lyn Williams OAM, Gondwana Choirs is Australia's most dynamic choral organization for young people. Internationally renowned for our artistic excellence and innovation, we are the Sydney Children's Choir, Gondwana National Choirs and the Gondwana National Indigenous Children's Choir.
Through our choral training programs, we are developing a unique Australian choral voice and providing high-quality music education to talented young musicians from urban, rural, regional and remote Australia; as well as opportunities for them to perform with innovation and excellence alongside artists of the highest calibre in Australia and throughout the world.
As a small arts company with a wide reach and a big vision, we receive just 15% government funding, and rely on public support to help us undertake our many diverse activities.
We're asking for your support to help us continue to nurture and inspire young people.
I am never happier with music than when I am at a Sydney or Gondwana Children's Choir concert. The sound is superb, the precision and discipline is astonishing, and the concentration and animation of the kids is a joy. And what a wonderful experience for them! Such a beginning to their lives must give them an advantage so great that it is almost unfair. Richard Letts, Executive Director, Music Council of Australia
Help us to give amazing musical and educational opportunities to talented young Australian singers, composers and conductors from across the country, regardless of their circumstances. We look forward to sharing our voice with you...

Bursaries give disadvantaged young Australians amazing musical, social and educational opportunities through our Sydney Children's Choir and Gondwana National Choirs. 'Accessibility' is a core value, and we want to ensure that no suitably talented and enthusiastic child is excluded from our programs due to financial or geographical barriers. Some of our bursary recipients are Gondwana choristers from rural and regional Australia, whose families have been adversely affected by drought, floods, and increased food and fuel prices. Others are single income parents, reliant on government income support or families touched by tragedy - one parent summed up the need thus: I have endeavoured not just to provide the essentials for my children, but to grant them with opportunities to experience and excel with the talents they possess.
Touring support helps provide choristers with invaluable cultural education and personal development opportunities. International touring is a significant undertaking for any arts organisation, and while we ask choristers to make a contribution towards expenses, this is kept as low as possible to make touring affordable for all choir families. International touring enables our choristers to be young ambassadors of Australian culture, and brings the energy and vibrancy of Australian music to the world, in performances of uncompromising quality.
Commissioning & performances create a piece of history that contributes to Australia's cultural landscape and will be sung and enjoyed for years to come. Some of our reputation for artistic excellence rests on the magnificent works we have commissioned from great Australian composers - over 100 new works in 22 years; building a unique choral repertoire renowned for its vibrancy and energy, and ensuring that our young choristers are singing contemporary, culturally representative material.
