Gippsland Women's Health Service is an independent, regional health service run by women for women.
The Association develops and implements health promotion programs based on the social model of health, which work at a number of levels to empower women to increase control over, and improve their health.
How will the funds be used?
Fund will be used to support current programs and resources which include:
- Maintaining memberships and a free quarterly women's health newsletter
- Health information and education programs for individuals, groups and professionals
- Health promotion programs including family violence prevention and sexual and reproductive health education
- Library service with free reply-paid postage
- LifeSkills for Women program
- Life! Taking Action on Diabetes program, including a program specifically for women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
- Free pregnancy testing and options counselling
- McGrath Foundation BreastCare Nurse support service for women experiencing breast cancer
