Hepatitis Queensland Donations Appeal

Recently re-named from the Hepatitis Council of Queensland, Hepatitis Queensland (HQ) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation that is a registered charity. Our vision is a Queensland free from the effects of viral hepatitis. Our mission is to provide a holistic, innovative and pro-active response to the challenges confronting people directly and indirectly affected by viral hepatitis. We are collecting funds to enhance and expand the services we provide free-of-charge to Queenslanders.

How will the funds be used?

All funds donated are used to provide services directly to people. Your donation makes a very real and practical difference to people with viral hepatitis by supporting us to provide free-of-charge services in the areas of counselling, a free-call 1800 number as a Telephone Information and Support Service, provision of print and digital resources, the HQ website (www.hepqld.asn.au), delivery of training and education sessions, advocacy support for individuals, public awareness campaigns, and policy development.

Key areas of expenditure

• Maintain the 1800 free-call Telephone Information and Support Service
• Provide support to people whose lives are affected by chronic hepatitis C and B
• Deliver education and training for health care workers in viral hepatitis
• Support health promotion activities that help people avoid the hepatitis virus
