HSP Research Project Appeal

HSP Research Foundation Inc

Give a One Off Donation Give a Regular Donation
HSP Research Foundation aims to find a cure for Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia - an inherited, degenerative disease affecting mainly the legs, causing spasticity and severely impairing walking.

We are just over halfway into the 2 year research project Identifying Therapeutic Drug Candidates for treating HSP and good progress is being made. The project aims to identify potential drugs to compensate for important cell functions impaired by the mutated genes that cause HSP. High throughput drug screening is now being done.

We raised $111,918 in 2011. Thank You to all who gave! The target for 2012 is $120,000 to help pay for research staff and materials used in drug screening. Being an all-volunteer Foundation, over 95% of all money raised goes to fund this research.
