HWNS Disability Employment Appeal

The Alstonville House With No Steps, known as Summerland House Farm, employs 89 Northern Rivers people with a disability. Areas of employment and training include administration, avocado and macadamia nut farming, wholesale/retail nurseries and regional gourmet macadamias, contract fruit packing, restaurant and function services, as well as lawns and grounds services. The organisation offers an environment that supports and promotes individual abilities rather than focusing on a disability.

How will the funds be used?

Funds will be used to continue to expand business opportunities in order to create more employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Meaningful full time positions are offered as well as support in finance & budgeting; social and community participation; relationships and transport.

Key Areas of Expenditure

Vital funds raised will assist us to develop additional tourism product to develop further employment and training opportunities. If sufficient funds are raised an additional 5-8 full time positions can be created for people with a disability who are already on our waiting list.
