The Importance of Employment and Education for Disadvantage Homeless Young People

At Joondalup Youth Support Services we employ youth workers to provide young people with ongoing support to overcome their social barriers that prevent them from gaining employment or achieving an education. Most young people receive this support from parents and family however young people we work with unfortunately do not have these support networks. JYSS youth workers fill this gap in their lives by providing intensive individualised support to help a young person overcome their social barriers and acheive their goals. We are collecting funds to allow us to continue employing these individual youth workers.

How will the funds be used?

The funds will be put towards employing youth workers who provide intensiv, long-term support to over 200 young people each year. Without these youth workers many disadvantaged young people who not have the support or develop the necessary skills to enter the workforce or aquire training.
