Jewish Community Services (JCS) supports individuals in need within South Australia's Jewish Community. It provides extensive home & community support services, social engagement and inclusion services, transport information, advocacy and counselling to the frail, aged and their carers.

Our Home & Community Support services comprise domestic assistance, personal care, meals, invaluable social engagement programs, healthy living and active ageing programs. 

The importance of these culturally based programs and services are essential  to the emotional and physical well-being for our clients and carers in the Jewish community.

JCS fosters an “Active Choices Active People” model of service and promotes Consumer Directed Care (CDC) principles for clients who access our services, which include:

• promoting a wellness or active ageing approach that emphasises physical and mental health;
• opportunities to improve social participation to maintain or promote a person’s capacity to live as independently as possible;
• a person-centred approach to support, promoting wellness and active participation in goal setting and decision making;
• timely and flexible services that respond to a person and their needs; and
• allowing clients to have greater control over their own lives by making choices about the types of care and services they access and the delivery of those services, including who will deliver the services and when.

Although JCS receives some funding from the Commonwealth Government to deliver these essential services, JCS relies on the generosity of community funding, donations and support to continue and further develop these valuable services and programs.
