Bringing Them Home

Journey of Healing (ACT) Inc

Give a One Off Donation Give a Regular Donation
The 1997 Bringing them home report documented the trauma of Indigenous families and communities when their children were forcibly taken. The report recommends ways to recognise, understand, and start to heal the effects of these actions.

Since 1998 we have worked with Indigenous people towards local action on these recommendations. We also want to heal relationships between Indigenous people and other Australians. We are an independent non-profit group, and part of a national movement.

How will the funds be used?

We rely largely on donations and want to expand to other healing activities; eg travel funds for 'stolen generations' people re-uniting with their families; and more events to increase knowledge and understanding of issues facing Indigenous Australians.

Key Areas of Expenditure

ACT events on anniversary of Sorry Day each year; eg family concert in park with Indigenous performers and speakers; forums on local Bringing them home actions.
Collaborating with Ngunnawal Elders for camps to sustain culture & build capacity.
Workshops & learning circles on Indigenous history, culture and issues.

Are donations tax deductible? No

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?
