The Lord Mayor's Community Trust invites you to make a difference in the life of a young person in crisis in Brisbane.
Queensland has the highest population of homeless people in Australia (25,000 people) with one in three being youth. Many youth in crisis are the victims of sexual abuse, violence, victimisation, social exclusion, lack of support, poverty and physical and mental illness. These disturbing facts indicate that we need to ACT NOW to cease this cycle of disadvantage.

How will the funds be used?
The Trust acknowledges the tireless work of many Youth orientated charitable organisations within the City of Brisbane that provide emergency accommodation, substance and crisis counselling, health and education services, and financial assistance.
For many of these organisations, their resources are already stretched to capacity in providing valuable services to youth in crisis. The Lord Mayor's Community Trust will provide financial assisstance to help these organisations (such as Brisbane Youth Service) maintain and develop their current levels of care.
