About Lucy Guerin Inc

Lucy Guerin Inc is an Australian dance company established in Melbourne in 2002 to create and tour new dance works. Renowned for the skill and originality of its small group of performers, it is a flexible organisation dedicated to challenging and extending the art of contemporary dance.

The company is committed to the exploration of everyday events and the redefinition of the formal concerns of dance. New productions are generated through an experimental approach to creative process and may involve voice, video, sound, text and industrial design as well as Guerin's lucid physical structures. Crucially, this is always a choreographic exploration, striving for visual, emotional and physical revelations that could not be generated or communicated in any other artform than dance.

Donations to Lucy Guerin Inc will help us to deliver a vibrant and engaging program of contemporary dance works, as well as initiatives into programmatic research and choreographic practice. By becoming a part of the Lucy Guerin Inc community you will be putting a spring in our step, benefiting a range of choreographers and dancers.

How will the funds be used?

Donations to Lucy Guerin Inc will support the Company in its commitment to the creation and touring of new dance productions. Donations will also assist the support of initiatives such as Pieces for Small Spaces, First Run, Hotbed workshops with local and international artists, and our artist-in-residence program. These initiatives and the Company's programmatic research into choreographic practice has been a major influence on the growing identity of Australian dance.

• Pieces for Small Spaces - Our annual curated program for new dance works by independent choreographers.
• First Run - Providing opportunities for artists to share their current practice through studio showings of first-draft works.
• Hotbed - Workshops with local and international artists.
• Special Occasions - One off performances and events hosted by Lucy Guerin Inc for the wider dance community and beyond by guest curators.
• Studio Residencies - Maintains an artist-in-residence and secondment program
