For over 24 years, Lucy Guerin Inc (LGI) has been at the forefront of Melbourne’s independent dance scene, presenting more than 23 award-winning works to tens of thousands globally. We’ve been pivotal in the careers of many dance luminaries such as Stephanie Lake, Antony Hamilton, Jo Lloyd, and Lilian Steiner and have had a far-reaching impact across the Australian arts sector.
Our dedication to strengthening Melbourne’s dance community remains unwavering. In the past year alone, we:
– Danced for over 5,400 audiences across 52 performances.
– Hosted 28 studio residents.
– Provided over 2,770 hours of free studio space.
– Delivered 236 classes to 2,250+ participants, led by 58 teachers.
– Commissioned 3 new works as part of our annual PIECES initiative.
– Engaged over 200 artists and creatives across our performances and programs.
– Provided more than 14,362 hours of employment for artists and collaborators.
– Toured to Shanghai, Lyon, Adelaide, and Ballarat.
– Received four Green Room Award nominations.
