How will the funds be used?

PIMD's current program involves new teaching methods and resources for reading and writing English in primary grades.

Our goal is to improve the English fluency and confidence of both teachers and children in remote village primary schools in Sri Lanka.

Rotary Australia has agreed to sponsor this international development program as it supports RAWCS' mission of service at home and abroad working with and through local communities.

Key areas of expenditure

Purchase of structured reading resources supporting a range of proficiency levels, training of teachers in new classroom strategies and student assessment methods, and purchase of technology to support student learning and allow us to support teachers remotely (for example e-readers, tablets).

Receipts are issued by RAWCS on behalf of PIMD
