We are collecting funds so that we can help people with disabilities to get active outdoors in the beautiful Tasmanian countryside and enjoy its benefits just like everyone else. Monatgu currently supports a number of individuals, aged between 18 and 38, with very high and complex support needs.
Montagu staff are currently supporting individuals who live with Autism, ADHD, OCD, ODD, Cerebral Palsy, Rett Syndrome, Fragile X, Neuro-Degenerative Disorder, Down syndrome, Intellectual Disability, Epilepsy, Vision and Hearing Impaired and who are non verbal.
Some of the benefits of providing people with disabilities with opportunities to participate are:
We will be using the funds to help our residents to fully participate in activities such as: swimming, sailability, choir, bush walking, water aerobics, trike rides, pottery classes, boat cruises, bowling, picnics.
Extra staffing - when residents require one on one support to fully participate
Volunteer expenses - to reimburse volunteers for out of pocket expenses
