The National Trust is the premier heritage-preservation organisation in Victoria. It relies for its income on donations, charitable grants and membership subscriptions. The cost of the conservation and maintenance of its large portfolio of historic properties is far in excess of its ability to pay.
How will the funds be used?
All funds raised in the Annual Appeal will be put towards meeting the National Trust's most urgent restoration challenges at its heritage sites in Victoria.
Key Areas of Expenditure
In 2011 the Trust is inviting donations to all general restoration projects, but is particularly appealing for funds for repair works at La Trobe's Cottage (Melbourne), Como House (South Yarra), Rippon Lea (Elsternwick) and the Portarlington Mill (Portarlington, Victoria).
