Sarah Jessica Parker - has auctioned off her own tickets for the world premiere of Sex And The City 2 at an event to raise money for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual rights. SJP attended the Human Rights Campaign’s 9th annual Speak The Truth gala at NYC’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel last month, and was one of a handful of stars to donate items to a massive fundraising auction.

Leonardo DiCaprio - In response to the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio has donated $1 million to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund to support immediate assistance and long-term recovery efforts. The donation was given through the Leo nardo DiCaprio F oundation which aims to “to secure a sustainable future for our planet and all of its inhabitants .”

 

Cathy Freeman - recently presented 19 bikes to students at both Bwgcolman Community School and St. Michael’s on Queensland’s Palm Isla nd . As part of the Cathy Freeman Foundation’s non- truancy program that has be en running for two years, the s tudents qualified to receive a bicycle based on improved attendance and attitude at school. At the awards ceremony, the children receive positive reinforcement for their active participation in the school community. The children had an opportunity to race Cathy on their new bikes after the formal presentation.
