Millions of new computers enter the market each year. So what should happen to the old ones? Some no longer work, but sending electric waste to landfill is hazardous to the environment and human health. Some old computers are in good working condition and could be a valuable resource for an individual or a community organisation.

There are many organisations listed on GiveNow.com.au that accept donations of computers either for recycling or refurbishing and distribution.

Each computer recycling organisation has different rules about what they can and can’t accept. Before making a donation, check their requirements, otherwise they may end up having to dispose of the computer at considerable expense.
