Tax-time donations break records at GiveNow.com.au

Donations to community causes through GiveNow.com.au topped $1.4 million during June.

Donations were up by around $300,000 on June 2010 figures, with thousands of donors seeking to take advantage of tax deductibility rules.

More than 1900 causes are now listed at GiveNow.com.au – a number that has been steadily climbing since the commission-free donations service was launched around a decade ago.

The average donation during June 2011 was $220 – up by $10 on June 2010 and $33 up on the figure for June 2009.

The biggest single donation in June 2011 through GiveNow was $25,000.

Through GiveNow.com.au’s My Giving function, you can track all your donations throughout the year, making claiming a tax deduction a whole lot simpler.

Log in to your My Giving account each time you make a donation and we’ll keep track of them – come tax time, we’ll send you an list of all your donations made throughout the financial year, information you can use when compiling your tax return.

If, at any other time during the year, you need a copy of a donation receipt just log in to My Giving, select the transaction in your donations history and generate a receipt for yourself.
