Overview:
- Targeting youth aged 9-12 years who are at risk of developing chronic disease from unhealthy lifestyle habits.
- Breaking the cycle of poor nutrition and inactivity.
- Using health education, personal development and fitness programs to influence positive lifestyle changes within individuals, families and school communities.
- Empowering parents and children with the knowledge, skills and habits to consistently implement positive lifestyle changes.
Participants:
Each school principal will choose up to 30 kids in their school aged 9-12 who fit the program prerequisites.
Prerequisites: (students must meet at least one of these)
- BMI over 25
- Family history of diabetes, heart disease, cancer or obesity
- Child has pre-existing metabolic disease (diabetes etc)
- From low socio economic background
Outline of program:
- 10 week program
- 20 sessions (8 x nutrition,10 x fitness, 2 x parent/teacher lifestyle seminars)
- Run by qualified and insured children's health and fitness professionals
- Nutrition and dietary education
- Weight management
- Cardio, strength and flexibility session
- Parent education
- Program aim: To empower at risk kids and their families with the knowledge, skills and habits required to improve health and reduce the risk of lifelong chronic disease.

- Raise over 2.5 million dollars across Australia
- 840 schools to participate in program
- 25,000 kids to participate in program

- $5 per kid per session
- $150 per session
- $300 per week per school
- $3000 per program
