There are many, many community groups that need the financial and in-kind suppor t that businesses can offer, and there are many, many ways your business can give.
Click here to search for a group to donate to. We encourage you to focus on your local area, on an issue that interests your staff, or on helping to break the cycle of systemic disadvantage by supporting groups that work with Indigenous Australians, people with disabilities, troubled youth, and others .
Note, though, that business giving is about much more than cash and in-kind support.
Formal partnerships, even simple ones, enable you to have a deeper impact on the community by establishing a relationship with a community group. For ideas about different types of partnerships, click here, and you will find a whole series of partnership help sheets here.
Staff serving on the board of a community group is also a particularl y valuable form of support. Our Business on Boards page provides more information.
Other forms of giving can include:
• Giving jobs to disadvantaged people;
• Giving people with disabilities access to your products and services;
• Giving the environment a break by reducing your company’s environmental impact; or
• Giving your company some balance by improving your workplace gender mix
