Pathways Foundation is a cutting edge venture that is growing rapidly and has the potential to have enormous social impact across Australia. Pathways specifically addresses the major issues facing our youth today and we are looking for support to make Pathways programs available to all boys and girls nationally.
Pathways offers a strong set of award winning and independent research supported programs that are designed to bring out the potential in young men and women, keep them out of trouble and create a better future.
Pathways programs operates in 8 areas nationally within the greater regions of south east QLD, north coast NSW, mid north coast NSW, south coast NSW, Sydney Victoria and regional areas within Tasmania and Western Australia.
To reach our vision to make or programs available to every boy and girl in Australia, Pathways needs to strengthen regional areas and significantly expand program capacity to reach out to those most in need.
Pathways' Goals:
Pathways goals for both the immediate and long term is to continue to grow and fulfil the vision for every boy and girl in Australia to have access to a safe, supported Rite of Passage to support their transition to being a young adult.
Key Areas of Expenditure
Leadership Training: Pathways programs are experiencing increasing demand. To answer this need and to expand the service into regionally and economically disadvantaged areas, the Foundation must continually train and recruit highly skilled men and women to facilitate camps. Pathways has developed a Leadership program to address this issue to target selected men and women within the community to become Pathways Leaders and to train them to deliver programs.
The Mother and Daughter Program: Based on similar aims and philosophies of the boys program, mothers and daughters will strengthen their relationship, daughters will be acknowledged and honoured, instilled with confidence and self worth. The pilot program launched in November 2006 with now 3 mother-daughter programs running in 2009.
Scholarship Fund: The Pathways Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance for those families who could otherwise not afford to attend the program. It is the policy of Pathways that no one misses out on programs due to financial constraints. Pathways has scholarships, subsidies, and payment plans available and gives financial support to nearly 20% of participating families.
Expansion into disadvantaged areas: Pathways aims to expand into rural and geographically isolated areas where boys and girls can be at greater risk.
