Social isolation is one of the biggest problems faced by young people in nursing homes (YPINH). There is no funding or resourcing to help them access the community or maintain contact with family, friends and social networks. As a result, YPINH experience depression leading to a decrease in their health and well being.
How will the funds be used?
The Alliance uses funds raised to help YPINH access the community and stay in touch with family and friends. We use these funds to buy computers and internet access for YPINH so they can maintain contact with others as well as funding community access through the provision of support workers and covering transport and other costs associated with any community access occassion.
