Donations are sought for Townsville's 5-day Christmas Festival 'Stable on the Strand' which is run by over 900 volunteers, is free of charge, and attracts over 37,000 each year. The event sees over 60 churches join together to present the story of the birth of Christ in song, dance, theatre and creative arts. The event would not be possible without the generosity of donors and sponsors each year.
How will the funds be used?
The funds will be used to deliver the event free of charge as a gift from the churches of Townsville to our community. The event this year will include quality cafe-style entertainment, free tea & coffee and Christmas cake, an amphitheatre play, a carousel, camels to ride, the interactive town of Bethlehem complete with King Herod, roman soldiers, the market place, the carpenter, baker, inn keeper and potter, animals, shepherds, an angel choir, and last but not least, Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus. Down on the beach will be a stage with quality performances and skate ramp for the young people.
