Stella is a not-for-profit incorporated association (DGR1) registered in Melbourne Australia, dedicated to supporting women and non-binary people’s writing.
Stella has been invited to participate in the Ciels Australs Literature and Cultures of Australia Festival which is to be held in Paris in November 2026 . Stella proposes to send a number of Stella-listed writers to Paris to take part in the Festival (Paris Festival Project).
Stella’s constitutional purpose is advancing culture through the promotion of literature. In support of that purpose, Stella undertakes activities including:
· celebrating and promoting Australian women’s writing;
· increasing sales of books by women and non-binary writers;
· providing financial benefits and creative opportunities to women and non-binary writers; and
· increasing access to and participation in literature to create a more equitable and vibrant literary culture.
Participation in the Festival will expose the Stella-listed writers to new international audiences for their writing and provide opportunities for them to seek European representation and publication for their work.
The Donor has agreed to support the Paris Festival Project by giving a gift to Stella and Stella wishes to accept the gift, all on the terms of the Gift Agreement.
GIFT AGREEMENT
In grateful recognition of the Gift, Stella agrees that the Donor will be acknowledged on organisational materials where Stella generally recognises supporters of Stella.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this agreement, Stella may cease to recognise any Donor whose conduct or reputation may materially undermine public respect for Stella, as determined by Stella’s Board of Directors in their absolute discretion.
Use of Funds
The Donor acknowledges that the Gift will be applied to the costs of sending Stella-listed writers to Paris (including travel accommodation, speaker fees, per diems and the like) and Stella’s associated operational costs.
If for any reason, the Festival does not proceed or one or more of the chosen writers is unable to attend the Festival due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances Stella will only refund the proportion of the Gift that the unexpended or unrecoverable costs of the Paris Festival Project bear to its total cost.
The Donor is welcome to waive their right to a refund and in that event, authorises Stella to apply the Gift to its general purposes.
Administration
Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible. Stella is not able to provide tax advice and encourages donors to contact the ATO or their own advisers regarding tax deductibility of gifts.
This Agreement represents the entire understanding of the Donor and Stella with respect to the subject matter of this Agreement, and may not be modified except by written instrument signed by the Donor and an authorised Stella representative.
