With your help we assist people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, some of our community's most vulnerable. We do this in a unique way, through supporting smaller grassroots organisations and projects. These organisations do not often have the connections, capacity or skills to fundraise independently but through StreetSmart you can partner with us to fund these critical and innovative services.
How will the funds be used?
To date, StreetSmart donors have supported over 1,200 grassroots homelessness projects with $12 million in funding (and counting). This has made a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals in our community. Together, we have provided emergency care, nourishment, accommodation, shelter for survivors of domestic violence and countless other services who assist individuals and households who are at risk or experiencing homelessness.
We understand that personal circumstances may vary, especially now with rising costs of living across the board. However, any donation or ongoing increase, whether big or small, can go a long way in providing a warm meal or a safe night's sleep for someone in need. It is only by your generosity that together, we are able to have such a powerful impact in Australia.
In addition to public donations, StreetSmart Australia also raises funds through our national annual events DineSmart and CafeSmart. Further details on all our events, the projects we have supported and homelessness in Australia can be found on our website www.streetsmartaustralia.org.
