Raw Potential Canberra formally known as Youth Care Canberra provides non-judgemental, pro-active outreach services to at risk or homeless youth, aged 12 to 25 years. We have been operating continously in Canberra for 33 years and estimate we have helped in excess of 10,000 disadvantaged at at risk kids overtime.

We receive minimal Government funding and rely on the generosity of the Canberra Community, our fundraising events and Corporate Partners to fund overselves.

Our key goals include providing immediate support and then working with the client and other services over the medium term on housing, education and well-being. This can include advocacy and basic life skills. One of our programs teaches young people budgeting and food preparation skills.

We often pick up the pieces where youth fall between the cracks of other services, sometimes due to them being below the age needed to qualify for assistance.

Much of success is attributed to engaging with youth who cannot or will not access services. Our purpose built outreach van is community funded and supports our youth workers on the street. We seek to unlock their true potential and reconnect them with mainstream society.
