Producing professional contemporary theatre is expensive and rarely returns a profit. Public subsidy only partly covers the risk of producing the new theatre that shapes our culture and identity. The Tasmanian Theatre Company is committed to showcasing the best of Australian and particularly Tasmanian theatre. It is our mission to enrich Tasmania as a place to live by making, presenting and facilitating exceptional theatrical experiences with an emphasis on contemporary new work.
