Uncle is a community-based organisation in Byron Bay that supports boys aged between 4 and 15 who are growing up under-fathered or without an active father in their lives. We do this in 2 ways: by organising activities where men and boys can spend time positively interacting together and by arranging one-on-one mentoring relationships.

How will the funds be used?


Although the salaries of our part-time staff are paid by The Federal Government Department of Family and Community Services, as a community-based, 'not for profit' organisation we rely on donations and contributions from the community to keep our organisation running. Further funding will support and subsidise our monthly activities that provide direct support to single-parent (and often low income) families, and enable us to better provide a quality mentoring service that involves appropriate guidance offered by positive adult male role models and maintaining a strong commitment to the screening and monitoring of all 'uncles'.
