TIN's mission is to protect, promote and enhance local native vegetation and support people with a passion for plants.
To fulfil our mission we plant, regenerate, conserve, maintain and protect local native plants across the Hunter region and encourage others to do so as well by raising awareness within the community.
TIN's volunteers assist in the running of our community nursery where local provenance plants are grown from seed collected from across the region and sold at community rates to landcare groups and others keen to maintain the local gene pool.
TIN volunteers regularly regenerate the narrow Newcastle coastal corridor from Nobbys Head to Glenrock State Conservation Area, banishing bitou bush and boosting biodiversity in the process.
TIN supports Landcare4Youth providing advice and when possible plants to schools and youth organisations to encourage and support the next generation of Landcarers.
TIN's vision is to be a thriving community organisation that is recognised nationally for our contribution to improved biodiversity and vegetation cover across the Hunter region.
