Version 1.0 General Appeal

version 1.0 is growing. Come on this journey with us and be a part of our future.

Once upon a time, version 1.0 produced one new acclaimed performance work each year. In 2010 we presented ten performance seasons of new works in eight different cities, plus a series of research projects and creative developments. And the future looks even bigger, with new collaborations with companies from across Australia, touring regionally and internationally, and several new productions in our home city of Sydney. These upcoming works explore topics as diverse as Australian colonialism, development corruption scandals, long-term missing persons, teenage sexuality and technology, the global financial crisis, and the entanglement of tourism and atrocity.

This is not measured, gradual growth. This is exciting, explosive expansion. version 1.0's program keeps growing, and in order to develop the infrastructure to keep producing these important theatre works we need your help. We're on a wild, exhilarating ride, and we would love for you to be a pivotal part of our journey into the future. Help us continue to make cutting-edge art that matters, theatre that challenges, informs and entertains audiences, and performance that opens spaces for public conversation.

How will the funds be used?

Whilst version 1.0 is very grateful for the State and Federal government funding support that we receive, this funding currently covers only 40% of the cost of developing and presenting our program of performance works. In order for version 1.0 to continue expanding its artistic program and infrastructure into the future, we really need the help of our supporters. No contribution is ever too small. Each dollar you donate has a tangible impact on version 1.0's ability to realise its ambitious and expansive vision. Each dollar you donate has a multiplier effect, and contributes enormously to the development of contemporary performance in Australia.
