DirtyFeet is a unique, Sydney-based, not-for-profit contemporary dance organisation. For the past five years, our programs have provided vital support for independent dance artists- particularly young emerging artists looking for opportunities to cultivate their creative potential and gain industry experience.
We are an artist-led organisation that strives to enrich the lives of Australians through cultural innovation and community engagement in the arts.
DirtyFeet is collecting funds for our upcoming production "Vitality"- a collaboration between two of the most ephemeral artforms- dance and music. Emerging dance artists from DirtyFeet and emerging composers from Chronology Arts (an arts music association supporting emerging composers) will combine forces to create new and challenging dance-music works. Vitality is a triple-bill, which will be presented at the Downstairs Theatre at the Seymour Centre. The Seymour Centre is kindly supporting the production with free rehearsal space and a reduced theatre hire rate, due to their belief in the validity of small arts projects like Vitality.
DirtyFeet receives some funding from government for projects like Vitality (Australia Council for the Arts, ArtsNSW, City of Sydney)- however the project will only go ahead with generosity from its donors and volunteers.
The funds will be used to bring the works out of the studio and into the performance realm. The artists have already been hard at work developing their ideas and creating innovative dance and music scores. Now is the time to get them under the lights.
You will also receive a complementary pair of DirtyFeet socks for donations over $20.
