The Women's Domestic Violence Crisis Service Appeal

The Women's Domestic Violence Crisis Service is a state-wide organisation that provides its services through a 24hour Crisis Telephone Service and a Crisis Accommodation Service know as Trish's Place. The Crisis Telephone Service continues to respond to over 100 calls daily, most of these calls coming from women who are in danger of further violence.

Staffed 24/7, Trish's Place offers a communal living environment that has the capacity to provide refuge for 3 families at any given time who are experiencing and/or escaping family violence. In the last financial year (200/10), Trish's Place accommodated 212 women and 199 of their children over 983 nights whilst also providing these women and children with support, material aid, emergency relief and advocacy to external services such as the criminal justice system, Victoria Police, Domestic Violence Outreach Services and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

Many women and their children who escape from their homes due to family violence often leave without their belongings including clothes, identification, medication and other personal belongings
