Wildlife Rescue General Appeal

Wildlife Rescue Inc is an independent, voluntary, non-profit charity dedicated to the rescue of injured, orphaned and sick native animals.

Each year in NSW, tens of thousands of native animals are in need of rescue. WRI helps to give these animals another chance, by providing a specialised rescue service to deliver them to a vet, licenced carer or wildlife hospital.

How will the funds be used?

To financially assist the operation of an emergency rescue service for native animals. Funds will be used solely to establish and operate an office and call centre (staffed by trained volunteers) and to develop a team of qualified rescuers.

Key areas of expenditure

• Telephone equipment appropriate for a 24-hour, 365-day per year emergency service.
• Computer hardware and software to facilitate finding and contacting rescuers.
• Training of phone operators and rescue personnel.
• Reimbursement of rescuers for travel expenses.
