Youth Futures WA has listed 3 other causes:
The most common reason young people leave the family home is due to poor relationships with parents or being unable to resolve conflicts. We are raising money to employ a Family Support Worker who will provide counselling and information to families who have teenagers that have either been asked to leave the family home or voluntarily left. Often these young people become homeless therefore early intervention is required to prevent this.
How will funds be used?
Funds will be used to provide counselling and information packages to resolve family conflicts. It is expected that a large proportion of youth homelessness can be prevented if these interventions are successful.
