YouthCARE Canberra

YouthCARECanberra offers a range of services to young people aged 12 to 25 years who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need of intensive support to help them get back on their feet. We are available to our clients 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and are able to respond to clients' needs as they arise.

Our target clients are at-risk young people who are unlikely to access mainstream youth services for a variety of reasons. The YouthCARECanberra staff also work with single parents and young couples including those who are pregnant.

Many of these young people are invariably confronted with multiple issues in their lives and our goal is to better equip them to tackle their problems, and rise above them as they re-occur.

Services include:

• Assistance to access accommodation
• Legal and Family Court support
• Food and emergency relief
• Support for drug, alcohol and mental health issues
• Assistance with family breakdown and relationship issues
• Support to re-engage in education and find employment
• Case management of clients
• Assistance in accessing Centrelink and medical services

YouthCARECanberra relies wholly on donations as it receives no government funding.
