This year we’re reaching out to you – our friends, fans and supporters to ask for your donations towards 15 Cigarettes – a project that addresses loneliness in our local community.
Researchers have found that loneliness is just as detrimental to health as smoking 15 cigarettes per day. Research also suggests that young people and older people are most at risk from the negative impacts of loneliness.
This project is Utp's antidote to loneliness in our local community. We're bringing together artists, young people and local seniors in circles of conversation, skill-sharing and creativity, and we're working closely with our Bankstown-based community partners, Community Minds and Olive Tree Women's Network, to demystify and destigmatise loneliness and to increase feelings of connectedness and well-being through the vehicle of the arts.
You can support this important work by donating this year. All donations over $2 are tax deductible. Funds raised through this campaign will go directly to realising the project including paying artists to lead these circles of connection and creativity.
Utp is not immune to the global upheaval of COVID and decrease in Government funding for the arts. With your help together we can ensure that Utp’s projects continue to make a positive social impact in Western Sydney and beyond.
Can you dig deep and help us make this impact?
