28 days in Flowers is an awareness raising and fund raising project to stand with women who live alongside mental health issues, promoting the idea -
"Don't go it alone."
We aim to get 500 women donating and wearing flowers in their hair for 28 days. Starting Sept 1st - The first day of spring. Donations are open for the whole 28 days, allowing women to get involved at anytime throughout this 28 days.
When these women see each other they will silently acknowledge each other with a hand to eye hand to heart action. symbolizing I stand with you. 'Don't go it alone.'
Previous 28 days in flowers quotes from participants
'I had not really anticipated what these days would bring, it has at times been difficult with me feeling vulnerable. Other times though I have felt beautiful and strong in my adornment. The most heart warming thing though has been the smiles and kind words I have gotten from strangers. I have had people come to talk to me at the bus and stop me in the checkout cue at the shops!! Wearing my flowers has allowed me to brighten the day of many and given me the opportunity to meet some incredible people.' Melissa Bull
'Because of this I have been able to meet so many wonderful new people. It's not only helped raise money but I know it helped raise my soul from ashes and in some way put a smile on other people. Thank you!!' ❤️❤️❤️ Suzanne Curtis
Funds raised in 2017 will be donated to the Hunter Women's Centre to assist them with their work with women experiencing mental health issues.
